Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

• Keep our finances on track by maintaining the general ledger, journal entries, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and transparency
• Help manage accounts payable, receivable, and cash flow to keep operations running smoothly
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, grant reports, and budgets that drive our mission forward
• Ensure our accounting practices align with GAAP and nonprofit fund accounting standards
• Assist with the annual audit and collaborate with external auditors

Staff Accountant Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (preferred) or a related field
• 1-3 years of accounting experience, ideally in a nonprofit environment
• Strong understanding of GAAP, fund accounting, and grant reporting
• Experience with QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or other accounting software
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and excited to work for a mission-driven organization
