Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative Senior Jira Administrator to join our team at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in Jira administration along with exceptional people skills and the ability to think outside the box. This position requires a strong collaborator who can manage, configure, and maintain Jira projects while working closely with cross-functional teams to foster innovation and ensure operational success. Experience in AWS is preferred, and the ability to obtain or maintain a security clearance is essential. The Senior Jira Administrator will be instrumental in optimizing workflows, managing integrations, and ensuring the smooth operation of Jira environments in a highly regulated and secure environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, configure, and maintain JIRA Software and JIRA Service Desk environments.
• Collaborate with diverse technical and non-technical teams to understand project needs and provide tailored JIRA solutions.
• Facilitate team collaboration by developing and implementing best practices for Jira usage.
• Create and manage custom workflows, schemes, permissions, and notifications within Jira.
• Innovate and implement Jira integrations with other tools and platforms to enhance team productivity.
• Proactively monitor Jira performance and propose creative solutions to improve system performance and scalability.
• Maintain a secure Jira environment by enforcing security best practices and managing user roles.
• Generate custom reports and dashboards for teams and senior management to track project progress and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Support AWS infrastructure needs related to Jira and other Atlassian tools, ensuring seamless integration.
• Manage plugin installations, configurations, and updates, while continuously seeking new ways to enhance Jira functionality.
• Provide training and support to teams on Jira features, encouraging collaboration and empowering team members to maximize Jira’s potential.
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure compliance with security protocols
• Lead or participate in Jira-related projects, including migrations, upgrades, and new feature implementations.

Qualifications:

• 5-8 years of experience as a Jira Administrator or in a related role.
• In-depth experience with Jira Software and Jira Service Desk, Confluence, configuration, and maintenance.
• Proven ability to think creatively and implement innovative solutions for complex Jira-related challenges.
• Experience managing and maintaining complex Jira workflows, custom fields, and integrations.
• Strong knowledge of JQL (Jira Query Language) for creating advanced filters and reports.
• Experience with other Atlassian products is a plus.
• Exceptional collaboration and communication skills to engage and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to balance attention to detail with out-of-the-box thinking to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must have or be able to obtain a CompTIA Security+ CE certification.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Security Clearance (current clearance is a plus).

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with scripting or automation tools (e.g., Groovy, Python, or JSON) to
• automate Jira processes.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools used to support Agile practices.
• Ability to train team members and end users on Jira best practices and usage.
• Familiarity with AWS services and infrastructure management.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
