Purchasing Assistant (Full-Time, Onsite - NYC)

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Department: Human Resources
We're seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join the HR Department of a large, established organization in Long island City . This role focuses on processing purchase orders, managing vendor relationships, and maintaining accurate purchasing data in company systems.
It's a great opportunity for someone with strong Excel and purchasing experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working with both data and people.

Responsibilities


  • Process and track purchase orders accurately and efficiently.

  • Maintain purchasing data and reporting in Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.

  • Communicate with vendors regarding orders, deliveries, and documentation.

  • Review and reconcile purchase order discrepancies.

  • Support purchasing audits and ensure proper documentation.

  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure compliance with purchasing policies.

Requirements


  • 3-5 years of purchasing or procurement support experience (corporate environment preferred).

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables required).

  • Experience working with large purchase order volumes and managing multiple priorities.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.

  • Familiarity with NetSuite or Tipalti a plus (not required).

  • Must be able to work onsite, Monday through Friday .
