Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the maintenance and repair of diesel engines, with a focus on tractor-trailers. This role is critical to our operations and requires someone who is mechanically inclined, with a strong understanding of electrical and HVAC systems. The successful applicant will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and performing repairs on our fleet of diesel vehicles. Duties: - Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements to ensure the vehicles are in good working order. - Diagnose and repair issues with diesel engines, transmissions, and electrical systems. - Conduct thorough inspections of the vehicles to identify potential problems before they become major issues. - Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electrical systems. - Perform welding and soldering tasks as needed to repair or replace components. - Suspend or lift vehicles using jacks and hoists to access areas that require maintenance or repair. - Collaborate with other technicians to ensure all vehicles are properly serviced and meet safety and regulatory standards. - Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including repairs and maintenance tasks. - Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of our fleet and its various components to ensure efficient and cost-effective maintenance and repair. Skills: - Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or service technician. - Strong mechanical knowledge and experience with diesel engines. - Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals. - Proficiency in electrical systems and their repair. - Experience with HVAC systems and their maintenance and repair. - Ability to suspend or lift vehicles using jacks and hoists. - Knowledge of tractor-trailers and their specific maintenance and repair requirements. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. - Strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service.
